Carrie Clark went from the public school system to running an online membership site for speech pathologists and making six figures in a matter of years. Carrie is the founder of Speech and Language Kids which has become THE place where speech-language therapists go for answers.

While in graduate school, Carrie found her purpose in the field of speech-language pathology with children. While working in public schools she found a longing to provide more assistance to the families she worked with. Carrie takes us on her journey of starting a small side business to teaching herself how to create a website and turning it into a 6 figure online business that allows her to spend time with her four favorite people…her husband and their 2 kids.

Carrie has drive and isn’t afraid to make mistakes in order to achieve something big. Listen to her story and you’ll even get to hear a surprise guest pop in on both of us!

What We’re Talking About

  • Differentiating yourself

  • Making mistakes and hearing “no”

  • Finding what lights you up

What Makes You Different

Carrie isn’t the only speech pathologist in the world, but she worked hard to find ways to make herself stand out while following what she loved doing the most.

Take a step back and look at what makes you happy, what makes you want to wake up every day and what is it about yourself that stands out from the crowd.

“How can I differentiate myself from what other people are doing?” Carrie asked herself this in order to figure out a way to make a passive income that allows her to do the work she is in love with while spending time with those she loves. She honed in on what resonated with people the most in order to find success.

Just Pivot

“You can always pivot and try a different direction.” – Carrie

Taking the first steps can be the hardest when starting a new business. It’s scary and exciting at the same time and chances are you will hear “no” more times than you’ll hear “yes” in the beginning. You will make mistakes and you might even try a few different businesses before finding the one that is right for you. Take that first step and if it’s not for you, just pivot in a new direction.

Finding Your Purpose

The more we do things that light you up, the better humans we are in the world. Take a note from Carrie and start where you are. Take that first step and simply do something today. It doesn’t have to be something over the top, just start!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here today and listening. Now go out and do

something!
